Online Sprachcafé

💬 Imagine chatting in a new language without worrying about mistakes or grammar.

At the online Sprachcafé, you are invited to put aside negative thoughts surrounding learning a new language and simply go with the flow.

The main goal in these online sessions is to have fun while practicing, not to perform perfectly.

We’re currently on vacation until September!

🇩🇪 Practice German online

🎯 Focused, easy-to-digest themes.

🗣️ English support available.

📃 Helpful written materials.

🤝 Find practice partners.

🫶🏼 Give back to the community.

What happens during the sessions?

We start the session with some group icebreakers. Each session includes documentation focused on a specific topic to help you engage in the exercise. We provide prompts and vocabulary to ensure you feel supported.

The conversations are held in smaller, intimate groups with cameras off (audio-only), eliminating the pressure to perform. Just be yourself and be willing to learn. In the end, you’ll find that you’re just talking to another human, who’s on the same learning journey.

We also host game and reading sessions, as well as whatever the community comes up with, for events. We encourage you to be willing to participate in those, too. Part of the fun is mingling around.

At the Sprachcafé, we speak, listen, and learn German together online in a relaxed, honest environment.

The essentials:

It is free, but contributions are very welcome so we can keep the work going! 💜

How can I join?

The majority of the group is around A2 and B2 level, but you are very welcome at any level. We will provide a slower setting and English as a support language. If you are a native, there’s always a playful basis in our workshops, and your knowledge enriches the experience, so feel free to join.

To sign up, you must be 18 or older and willing to participate in the discussion.
